Outdoor Movie Screen Rental in Salt Lake City

We run the whole movie night, not just the screen. Backyards, city parks, neighborhoods, apartment communities, and company campuses across northern Utah.

What you are hiring us for

A drop-off rental hands you a screen and a projector and leaves the rest to you. That is a real option.

We do the other version.

We show up hours early. We bring event sound, so the back row hears it as well as the front row. We play background music while people find their seats, and an MC can handle announcements. When it ends we take it down and haul it out.

You are not renting gear from us, and there is no pickup option for movie screens. We do rent out our entry level projectors, which are on the rental page. You are hiring us to run the night, whether that is thirty people in a backyard or four hundred in a park.

Transparency

Why the prices are on the page

We got tired of the same thing you probably did. You ask what something costs and you get a form, then a call, then a quote that looks nothing like the number in your head.

So the prices are on the page. What you see is what the package costs, with setup, the AV tech, teardown, and delivery inside 50 minutes already in it.

You can find a cheaper starting number. Usually the sound, the power, and someone to run it get added back one at a time until you land near this number anyway. We would rather show you all of it up front.

Licensing

The film license

There is one piece we like you to handle, and that is the license.

If you show a movie anywhere but a private backyard, you need a public performance license. That covers city parks, apartment courtyards, church lots, school fields, and company campuses, even when your event is free. You buy it through Swank or MPLC in a few minutes.

We like to have you do it because you are the host, and the license goes in the host's name. We provide the playback and the projection.

Disney and the studios it owns put extra limits on outdoor showings, so tell us early which movie you want and we will flag it.

Who books these

Backyard birthdays, graduations, and block parties. Parks and recreation summer series. HOA and neighborhood movie nights. Apartment communities running resident events. Company family days, church groups, and school fundraisers.

We work Salt Lake City, Farmington and Davis County, Ogden, Layton, Park City, and Provo and Utah County, and we travel past that when the date makes sense.

Production

The rest of what we do

Reeverb is a production company, and the movie screen is one piece of it. The same crew runs silent disco nights, hosted karaoke, and the talent side, where we book and manage DJs for venues and brands. Renting gear yourself? The catalog has published prices.

Questions we get every week

What does an outdoor movie screen rental cost in Utah?

Four packages: $1,500 for the 8 by 14 screen up to 100 guests, $2,000 for the 16 by 9 up to 250, $2,500 for the 22 by 10 at 500 or more, and $5,000 for the LED video wall. Sales tax and the film license are billed on top.

Who buys the film license?

You do, and we like it that way because you are the host and the license goes in the host's name. You buy it through Swank or MPLC in a few minutes. We provide the playback and the projection.

Do we pick the gear up ourselves?

No. These packages are not drop-off rentals. We deliver, set up, run the night with an AV tech on site, and tear it all down. Inside 50 minutes of Farmington there is no delivery charge.

Can you show a movie during the day?

Yes, with the LED video wall. A projector needs it to be dark, but an LED wall makes its own light and stays watchable in daylight, so an afternoon showing works.

How big is the screen?

Three projection sizes: 8 by 14 feet, 16 by 9 feet, and 22 by 10 feet. Send us a photo of the space and your crowd count and we will tell you which one fits and where we would put it.

Do you provide power?

Our own portable power is part of the $2,500 package, so a park with no outlets is not a problem. On the smaller packages we will use the site power if it is there, and if it is not, tell us and we will plan for it in the quote.

What happens if it rains?

We watch the forecast with you. If it looks bad we talk before setup and you can move to a different spot. Once we are set up we do not move gear for weather.

How far ahead should we book?

For a summer date, as early as you can. June and July go first. We need a signed contract and a deposit to hold your date, and until we have both the date stays open to everyone.

What about my neighbors?

We set the sound for your yard, not the whole street. Tell us if you have a noise cutoff and we will plan around it.

Can you play music before the movie or make announcements?

Yes. We can run background music while people arrive and put an MC on the microphone for announcements, sponsors, or a welcome.
