Microphone Rentals
What you are renting
Microphones are where most events actually go wrong, and it is almost never the microphone's fault. It is the wrong type for the room, or too few channels for the run of show, or nobody coordinated the frequencies in a building running three other events.
We scan and coordinate every rack before it goes out. If you tell us the venue and what else is happening in the building that day, we will tell you whether you have a problem before you find out live.
Before you book
How renting works
Pickup is 8am to 1pm on your event day at our Farmington warehouse, 21 minutes north of the Salt Lake City airport. Upon request we can demo the gear before you leave. Delivery, setup and an on-site technician are available as add-ons.

Picking the right kit
How to size it
Keynote or single presenter
One handheld, or a lavalier if they are moving and being recorded. Always ask for a spare.
Panels
One channel per panelist. Four is the common number, and we rent them as a quad rack.
Toasts and awards
Handhelds. They get passed, they work anywhere in the room, and nobody has to wear a bodypack over a suit.
Q and A from the floor
Two handhelds on runners. This is the channel most people forget and the one the recording needs most.
Questions we get every week
Should I rent a handheld or a lavalier microphone?
A handheld sounds better in more rooms because it sits closer to the mouth, which is what gives you volume before feedback. A lavalier frees the presenter's hands and looks better on camera. Most conferences use both across a day. We wrote a full comparison for conference use if you want the detail.
How much does it cost to rent a wireless microphone in Utah?
Every system above has a published rate. A single-channel Shure QLXD is priced per channel, and dual and quad racks are priced as sets, which works out cheaper than renting channels individually.
How many microphone channels do I need?
One per person who will speak at the same time, plus at least one spare. A keynote plus a four-person panel plus two floor mics is seven channels, not five.
Do you coordinate wireless frequencies?
Yes. We scan and coordinate every rack before it leaves the shop. If you are in a convention center running several sessions at once, tell us what else is in the building so we can plan around it.
Do microphone rentals include stands?
Cables are included. Microphone stands and podium mounts are separate line items so you are not paying for hardware the venue already has.
